We greatly value your input and help in choosing the next class of high-performing, under-resourced high school seniors who will become Greenhouse Scholars in Colorado.
Volunteer Readers work in teams to review and rank 8-14 applications. After reading and scoring each applicant according to our evaluation framework, Volunteer Readers meet to discuss their rankings and help select the semifinalists. This presents an excellent opportunity for local and long-distance volunteers alike – we are happy to send application packets via email/mail and arrange phone conferences for long-distance volunteers.
Commitment: Approximately 10 hours
Location: Anywhere
Mon, Jan 6 – Applications sent via mail/email or may be picked up at the Greenhouse Scholars office.
Sun, Jan 19 (end of day) – Volunteer Readers finish reading and scoring applications and submit score sheets to Greenhouse Scholars.
Tues, Jan 21, Wed, Jan 22 OR Thurs, Jan 23 – Reading teams meet for one hour to discuss selection of semifinalists. Boulder groups will use a conference room at Greenhouse Scholars' office and our staff will work with Denver groups to find a convenient location. Out of town volunteers will use a conference call or Skype.
